My approach to therapy is integrative and tailored to your unique needs. I’m Amanda Thorpe, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I’m a compassionate, person-centered therapist who believes that each individual should play an active role in their own healing and growth. I take a holistic approach to therapy and work collaboratively with clients to help them identify their goals, recognize their strengths, and make decisions that feel right for their lives.
My experience includes working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD, as well as working with couples and families navigating reunification. I also have experience as a forensic therapist, supporting individuals involved in the criminal justice system. During my undergraduate internship, I worked with individuals and families, gaining valuable experience supporting people as they navigated challenges and connected with community resources. I later completed my master’s-level internship working with individuals involved in the criminal justice system. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work in 2020 and my Master of Social Work in 2022.
As a mother and wife, I understand the many roles, responsibilities, and challenges that can come with family life. My own experiences have helped me recognize the value of having a safe and supportive space to process life’s challenges, and that understanding is one of the reasons I chose to become a therapist.
I strive to create a welcoming, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I believe therapy is a collaborative journey, and I feel privileged to walk alongside my clients as they work toward greater understanding, healing, meaningful change, and a life that feels more fulfilling.
